El Nido, Palawan. - My Second Leg of Summer (Day 1)

So 2013 is quite a summer blessing to me cause I get to spend an entire summer being friends with the sea water and its wonders.

After six years, my friend/ex-officemate Denise gets to visit and meet us here in the Philippines. She actually hosted us before when we were in Georgia 7 years ago, so when she said she's taking a break and would go on tour in Asia, we decided that we meet up and spend a few of our summer days with her.

Our other friends, Shei and Juvy went to plan for our trip and I am actually the tag along person in the group since I get to do nothing with the planning. By the time we were set to go, I am freaking out cause I wasn't able to realize the cons of my trip which is actually, leaving the kids and missing them. I almost backed out but still, I know that I needed this vacation the most and that I would really feel bad if I missed this chance to at least unwind.

Just for the benefit of everyone who hasn't been in El Nido, I think it would be helpful to share our experience.

Shei was able to book our flight from Manila to Puerto Prinsesa and Puerto Prinsesa to Manila by P4500 only for Philippine Airlines airbus. We get to board the plane at exactly 6 am and we were able to arrive to our destination smoothly at 8am.

Here's us getting so excited with our first summer getaway trip in the Philippines together.

posing for test camera purposes.

Since we get to the airport early we get to take pictures while waiting:

And here's a standard us inside the plane:

We were lucky enough that day to see a rainbow waving hello,

So while we were off boarding the plane I asked Manong Security guard to take a picture of us and he refused because they're not allowed to, but he said he can join me in the picture though:

Welcome to Puerto Princesa Airport :)

And yeah, here's us excited inside the executive van we hired that would take us to El Nido, Palawan. It is actually P900 per person and you get to share it with others who will go to the same destination. We hired day trippers and the experience with them was really great too. It was a 6 hours drive from Puerto Princesa to Palawan and you must expect rough road for real (rough road starts after four hours so it means you get to bounce and tire your self for two hours!!!!). I would suggest you spend more on your van on and off El Nido journey. You wouldn't want to sit uncomfortably while heading to your destination for 6 hours.

Here's us inside the van :)

When we get to El Nido's boundary, our van stops so we can do some photo ops in their "Welcome Banner" and gets to see the majestic island that is waiting for us.

The island waiting for us down there:

So we stayed in El Nido Bay Inn and gets to spend P2700 per person for our 3 days, 3 nights stay in El Nido as we kind of share rooms.

This is our room during our stay there. It is twin bed and kinda comfortable with aircon and good supply of running water. The receptionist was nice too :)

While waiting for Denise (she took an expedition with Tao Group that would go island hopping for 5 straight days starting in Coron) we visited the streets of El Nido and found it interesting.

We also visited the shore and is getting excited to explore.

So finally, after long years.... Here we are sitting in the same table in El Nido, having fun :)
